2009 UPDATES:
We've awarded our 2009 Scholarships! View our scholarship recipients!
The Jane's Legacy Foundation New England Clambake and Bullroast event held last September was a huge success. Approximately $35,000 was raised and is being put to very good use. The money earned was disseminated to The Sandra and Malcolm Berman Comprehensive Breast Cancer Center at GBMC, to Mercy Hospital's Breast Cancer Center, to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, college scholarships, and other charitable causes Jane would have strongly supported.
We are holding our next annual event on Saturday, September 12, 2009 from 6–11 p.m. at the Tall Cedars Hall in Parkville.
You can buy tickets online to this event. It will be another New England Clambake and Bullroast with a DJ. We will also be having a Chinese auction, and Silent and Live auction items as well. It should be a very fun night and we hope you will mark your calendars to Save the Date!
2008 UPDATES:
Last year‘s event was very successful and a great start for future years to come. We raised approximately $25,000. With that money we donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Maryland; we gave two scholarships to deserving students from Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids, IA, where Jane was PTA President and where both of her sons graduated; and we purchased patio furniture, a bench, and a birch tree for the new Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha, IA. We also are supporting five children (3 girls and 2 boys) in Nicaragua through Compassion International.
